The waters of Abano and Montegrotto basin fall into the category of deep underground waters, which are unique because of the long distance they travel.
The waters derive from the uncontaminated basins of the Lessini Mountains in the foothills of the Alps, passing through calcareous rocks and into the subsoil at a depth of approximately 2000-3000 meters. They are held at high temperatures and under strong pressures over an approximately 80 kilometer route that takes an average of 25/30 years. During this time they take on mineral salts and finally reach the Euganean Spas, where they spring forth at a temperature of 87°C.
Our thermal Spa has its own source and has been qualified as “I Super” by the Italian Ministry of Health, which indicates the safeguard of natural resources and the strict discipline in using the waters.

Thermal mud is the result of a mixture of a solid, a liquid, and a biological component (clay, sodiobromiodic water, microorganisms and biomaterials). The ripening process takes place in special tanks for approximately 6 months.
During this time the mud is constantly kept in contact with a steady flow of thermal water at a temperature of 60°C.
The temperature and the chemical components in the Euganean thermal waters affect the development of particular strains of microbes, modifying the chemical and chemical-physical properties and imparting the therapeutic properties that make this mud so unique.
The
natural mud therapy is particularly indicated against the illnesses of the locomotive system, such as
osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and rheumatisms.
